Author Talk with Patty Krawec on Becoming Kin

Join United Women in Faith members and friends on Monday, November 25, at 7 p.m. ET for a special Reading Program Author Talk. We will talk with Patty Krawec about her book Becoming Kin: An Indigenous Call to Unforgetting the Past and Reimagining Our Future. Becoming Kin is a 2025 United Women in Faith Reading Program selection.

Register here.

In Becoming Kin, podcaster Patty Krawec weaves her own story with the story of her ancestors and the broader themes of creation, replacement, and disappearance, helping readers see settler colonialism through the eyes of an Indigenous writer. The work is a sojourn through Native and settler history, myth, identity, and spirituality that helps us retrace our steps and unravel the history we have been taught.

All are welcome. There is no cost to participate. Pre-reading of the book is not required, but it will enrich your experience of the author talk. Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. During registration, you will have an opportunity to submit a question to the author. We will select several of these questions for the author to answer live during the program.

If you are planning to purchase this book, consider buying it through our United Women in Faith affiliate page, bookshop.org/shop/uwfaith, to earn 10% back for the organization!
