Prayers for Cornerstone Family Ministries

As reports from Hurricane Milton are coming in, Cathy Stone, executive director of Cornerstone Family Ministries, a National Mission Institution in Tampa, Florida, writes:

The storm lasted until early into the morning. It was a good 8-9 hours of 90-100 mile-an-hour winds here in Tampa. We are without power almost everywhere, there is water in many places (they are testing it and asking those who have it to limit use), and the internet is very spotty. Staff from Cornerstone Family Ministries, who were in shelters, ventured out as soon as the storm passed and checked on nearby locations on the way to their homes.

  • The Rosa Valdez Center on Albany Street is currently inaccessible due to water levels.
  • The Center at Oak Grove sustained damage to the roof and both playgrounds.
  • The Wolff Center building seems to be OK after a quick check, but the community garden is a mess.

We will provide further assessment as we gain better access to our locations. Thank you for your prayers.
