Faithful Witness Wednesdays

A Call for Congressional Courage

Join the live event at the Capitol or watch the livestream Wednesdays at noon ET.

United Women in Faith General Secretary/CEO Sally Vonner will speak at the event on April 16.

United Women in Faith joins Sojourners and other faith-based organizations of the Washington D.C. Interfaith Staff Community to support faithful witness events on the Capitol Hill grounds that call on Congress to exercise greater moral courage in upholding their Article 1 powers and prevent executive overreach.

Our nation faces an escalating threat of a constitutional crisis fueled by the Trump administration’s overreach and unconstitutional actions. A lack of leadership in Congress has allowed this crisis to grow, as it cedes its role as a co-equal branch of government. The faith community is raising a prophetic and pastoral call to congressional leaders.

Faithful Witness Wednesdays take place every Wednesday at noon ET on the Capitol Hill grounds, Washington D.C. through the end of April. These multi-faith, nonpartisan rituals highlight what’s at stake and the communities already harmed. They feature faith leaders from diverse traditions offering inspirational prayers, reflections, and calls to faithful action.
