Voices From the Field: Offering Shelters of Hope
National Mission Institutions Offer Shelters of Hope
Join us Tuesday, Sept. 19, 4 pm ET/ 3 pm CT / 1 pm PT for a virtual event via Zoom.
Hear speakers from Dumas Wesley Community Center, Emma Norton Services, and Neighborhood Services Organization share about their housing programs for women and their children. These programs address a range of needs — from affordable, permanent housing to a safe place with wrap around services for women (and their children) to recover from abuse and trauma, job loss, addiction, and financial instability. All three programs are funded by grants from United Women in Faith.
Guests are:
• TONYA BROWNLOW of Emma Norton Services in St. Paul, MN
• STACEY NINNESS of Neighborhood Services Organization in Oklahoma City, OK
• KATE CARVER and SARAH LAURIO of Dumas Wesley Community Center in Mobile, AL
An optional breakout session will follow the one-hour program.
The quarterly Voices From the Field events feature leaders sharing their work and life stories, daily challenges, hopes, and dreams. This conversation series highlights United Women in Faith initiatives supported by Mission Giving — initiatives that significantly improve the lives of women, children, and youth — down the block and around the world.
