In Memoriam: Janet Rivera

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Janet Rivera, a longtime and devoted staff member of United Women in Faith, who died on Sunday, December 28, 2025.

Janet began her service in March 2002 with the General Board of Global Ministries, working as an administrative assistant in the Mission Personnel Unit. She later joined what was then known as the Women’s Division, continuing her work in an administrative capacity in Membership & Leadership Development. At the time of her passing, Janet served as executive assistant to the general secretary/CEO and finance assistant to the treasurer/CFO.

Over more than two decades of faithful service, Janet made invaluable contributions to the life and work of our organization. She was known for her thoroughness and attention to detail, as well as for the grace and professionalism she brought to every role she held. Most of all, she will be remembered for her hearty and joyful laugh, her kindness, and her deep love for the Lord — qualities that touched colleagues, members, and partners alike.

Janet leaves behind five children and three grandsons.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Janet’s family and loved ones, and we give thanks for her life, her service, and the many ways she supported our mission. She will be deeply missed. Please keep Janet’s family and all who mourn her in your thoughts and prayers.
