Paulette Moore-Hall has been a faithful supporter and promoter of The Legacy Endowment Fund for many years. She has served as a dedicated legacy liaison for her conference and on the Legacy Steering Committee. She has also been a member of the 1869 Society for many years and has even increased the amount of her planned gift.

Through all of Paulette’s significant work for United Women in Faith over the years, her husband, Lionell, remained very supportive of her time away because he knew how important the work was to her. Sadly, on January 2 of this year, Lionell passed unexpectedly. As our hearts and prayers were going out to Paulette, she shared with me that as she was going through his papers, she discovered a completed 1869 Society Letter of Intent for a future gift to The Legacy Endowment Fund that Lionell had dated with her birthday.

“The discovery of this gift has brought a sense of purpose and hope to me, as it aligns with my Lionell’s values and the support he shared with me to commit to supporting the mission ministry of United Women in Faith,” states Paulette.

In fact, she was so moved that she doubled her husband’s gift and gave the full amount to The Legacy Endowment Fund. She adds, “I am committed to honoring his intentions by fulfilling his intent to contribute to The Legacy Endowment Fund. I believe that this act of giving will not only honor his memory as an 1869 Society member, but also further the impactful work that United Women in Faith continues to carry out.”

Our sincere appreciation goes out to Lionell for his legacy gift and to Paulette for her continued generosity and for allowing me to share this very meaningful personal love story.

Just as Lionell and Paulette Moore-Hall were moved to support each other and the future work of United Women in Faith, we hope you will be similarly moved to leave a personal legacy of love and become an 1869 Society member by making a planned gift through your estate. Helpful information can be found at uwfgift.org.

Perhaps you have already designated United Methodist Women (or United Women in Faith, either is legally acceptable) as a beneficiary in your will or estate plans. If so, please let us know so that we can thank you and add you to The 1869 Society. Your continued generosity in securing the future of our work with gifts to The Legacy Endowment Fund is greatly appreciated. Together, we are building our legacy while putting our love in action!

Deaconess Christi Campos is the executive for Development and Donor Relations for United Women in Faith.
