Celebrating Earth Day: Protecting our Health

On April 22, at 3 pm ET, celebrate Earth Day with us!

Join us for a live event via Zoom as we hear from community leaders and experts working on protecting their community’s health and fighting environmental injustices.

Since its origin, Earth Day has created awareness about how much there is to appreciate and love from creation.

How many are your works, Lord!
     In wisdom you made them all;
     the earth is full of your creatures.
There is the sea, vast and spacious,
     teeming with creatures beyond number—
     living things both large and small.

—Psalm 104:24-25

Psalm 104:24-25 has taught us to be in awe of the wisdom of God’s creations and the way the smallest to the largest beings work together in ecosystems and support life on this beautiful Earth. This is a reminder that our fight is one of love, a fight to protect what’s most precious — life.

Our impact on this Earth matters, and industries and governments should not be able to make decisions without us, and without concern about our health and the impact on our ecosystems. Together we demand respect for our health and bringing back environmental protections.

Celebrate Earth Day in Your Community:

  • Organize a viewing party with friends and family to participate in this webinar together and discuss ways to take action for environmental and climate justice.
  • Research and join local Earth Day celebrations and share our informative resources.
  • Host a Climate Justice bible study based on Psalm 77.

Join us live for more opportunities to take action and use any of our resources in your own community events. If you need any support or resources for your Earth Day efforts, e-mail ivega@uwfaith.org.

All our events are free of cost, and everyone is welcome.
