National Webinar: Resistance from the Borderlands

Join us Wednesday, November 4, at 3 p.m. ET for “Resistance from the Borderlands: Arizona Communities Stand Against the Wall”, a national virtual webinar lifting up the voices of people on the front lines of border wall expansion and ecological destruction.

Register here.

As people of faith, we stand in solidarity with the communities and ecosystems being harmed by border wall construction in Arizona and along the entire U.S.–Mexico border. The wall cuts through sacred Indigenous lands, drains and disrupts fragile water sources, blocks wildlife migration, and pushes migrants into ever more dangerous terrain, contributing to deaths in the desert.

We must also name a deeper truth: the militarization of our communities and borders is a major driver of the climate crisis. The surveillance towers, heavy machinery, and military infrastructure being built in the borderlands consume enormous resources and leave lasting destruction.

Our faith traditions call us to welcome the stranger, care for creation, and seek justice for the most vulnerable. That call asks more of us than prayer alone; it asks us to act.

All are welcome: United Women in Faith members and community members, congregations, organizations, advocates, and the general public. Members of the press are also welcome to attend. Please share this invitation widely with your faith community.
