Jan./Feb. response: “It Tugged at My Heart”
Have a plan in place as a trifecta donor.

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with one of our generous members, former board director and new South Central Jurisdiction President Stacie Hawkins.

“I’ll never forget my time on the United Women in Faith Board of Directors and hearing the stories of the projects and endowments that had been set up through our organization over 100 years ago by women who were so committed to our work. They knew the work needed to continue. They left all they had to benefit women, children, and youth they would never even meet. It really tugged at my heart,” Hawkins said.
“I knew right then that I wanted to put my gifts into The Legacy Endowment Fund. As a permanently invested endowment, I knew our entire organization would benefit from the unrestricted interest earned for many generations to come.”
As a longtime member of United Women in Faith, Hawkins made a planned gift and became one of our first 1869 Society members.
“I already had my life insurance in place, so it was easy to name United Women in Faith’s Legacy Endowment Fund as the beneficiary,” Hawkins said. “It gave me peace of mind to have that plan in place and know I would be making an impact for the next 150 years.”

Hawkins also became a Legacy Builder by setting up an automatic monthly withdrawal from her checking account to The Legacy Endowment Fund.
“As an accountant, I like having things in place and I do all my banking and finances electronically. I was pleased to see that United Women in Faith had a secure system to set it all up online and it was so easy to do,” said Hawkins. “I am blessed to be able to give an amount large enough each month that it also made me a Friends of Legacy donor with a pledge to continue to give over the next three years. It’s so important that we all support the future of our work through The Legacy Endowment Fund. Women can give what fits into their budget. This organization has made such a positive difference in my life and in countless others. I can’t imagine a future without United Women in Faith!”
Well, we won’t have to, thanks to forward-thinking donors like Stacie Hawkins and others, who now give through all three of our Legacy giving societies: 1869 Society planned gifts, Friends of Legacy major gifts, and Legacy Builders monthly gifts. Our Trifecta Donors, as we call them, are continuing to put their faith in action by securing the future of our work with women, children, and youth for generations to come. If you would like more information on how to join one of these giving societies, please contact our office or talk to the legacy liaison from your conference. Together we are building our legacy!
