General Conference
Member nominee: Robin Ball
Members of United Women in Faith put love into action every day to inspire, influence, and impact their churches and communities. Many of our members live out their faith by serving as leaders in The United Methodist Church. This year, 11 annual conferences are electing their delegates to General Conference, and members of United Women in Faith are stepping up to the call.
Meet Robin Ball, a member of United Women in Faith at Community United Methodist Church in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, and president of the Mountain Sky Conference United Women in Faith. She has served as conference treasurer as well, and as treasurer and president for her local church and district. She has been dean of the Mountain Sky Mission u and on the board of directors for Crossroads Urban Center, a United Women in Faith National Mission Institution in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She is the secretary of Mountain Sky Board of Global Ministries and a member of the Conference Board of Lay Ministry, Round Table, and Annual Conference Planning Team. And she is a candidate for delegate to the 2028 United Methodist General Conference.
What do you like most about being a member of United Women in Faith?
Belonging to a sisterhood of women who believe they can—and who do—make a difference in the lives of women and the children, whether that is in the local community with food or education, or with training in another part of the world, or advocating for more just laws. We do make a difference.
Why are you running for General Conference delegate?
We can make a difference in our church as well. Members of United Women in Faith gain leadership skills, know how to work as a team, and know how to make things happen that benefit all, not just a few. I want to take those skills to the next level. And I like creative problem solving! How can I help make changes that give everyone an equal place at the table?
What are your hopes for the church?
My hope that through new structure, The United Methodist Church will be true to “Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors,” a church with the focus on the local community and its people.
Mountain Sky will elect its delegates during its annual conference June 11-13. Please keep Robin in your prayers!
