Jul./Aug. response: Justice Issues 50 Years From Now
Faith, Legacy Fund Ensure Hope
by Christi Campos
Have you ever wondered what justice issues we will need to work on 50 years from now? What will that work look like a century from now? What will the needs and ills of our society be then? It can be a little frightening to think about. Or we can look toward the future with hope.

It would be a blessing to think that in 50 years we would have solved the racial and climate justice issues we work so hard to impact now. But the reality is, it has taken longer than that for our society to create them, and they seem to be getting worse instead of better. That can be disheartening, especially if you look at that fact without faith.
Faith keeps us focused on the good in people and in our society. Belief in God holds us accountable to continue to impact our world, looking beyond the ills of society to the root of the problems. God allows us, as women of faith, the opportunity to visualize a better world and gives us the strength to take the steps to make it happen.
What additional justice issues will need to be addressed in the future? Will hunger be eradicated in 100 years? Will gun violence no longer be an issue? Will we have evolved as a human race to live a more peaceful existence where our issues are dealt with together and quickly fixed? Wouldn’t that be wonderful? Heaven on earth.
The fact is, we may need to work on our current justice issues and many others over the next 50, 100, or 150 years. They might be more important than ever for the survival of our world. None of us can truly predict the future. But we can prepare for it. We can make sure that future generations of United Women in Faith have the funds they need to continue the work our foremothers started 157 years ago and that we still do today.
Our purpose remains. Our work continues. Our will never fails when fueled by our faith. Through Christ all things are possible and we are unstoppable.
Your continued gifts to The Legacy Endowment Fund, in whatever way you choose to give, will allow our valuable justice work, and all the other work we do to improve the lives of women, children and youth, to continue 50 years from now and beyond.
We can predict one thing about the future: with your generosity and foresight, and the security of a permanently invested endowment, United Women in Faith will be there working for positive change and justice. Because together, we are building our Legacy!
