United Women in Faith Mourns Death of CEO’s Son
United Women in Faith General Secretary and CEO Sally Vonner suffered a tremendous loss over Labor Day weekend when her son, Arvis Wesley Vonner II, died unexpectedly on Aug. 31, a day before his 33rdbirthday.
“We at United Women in Faith are deeply grieving for Sally as we learned of Wes’ sudden passing,” said Jana Jones, president of the board of directors. “As a supportive sisterhood let us hold Sally and her family in prayer and surround them with love while respecting Sally’s need for privacy during this most difficult time.”
Thank you for your prayers and support for Sally, her daughter Lessie, Wesley’s dad Arvis, Sr., and their entire family during this difficult time.
The funeral service for Arvis “Wesley” Vonner II will be held at First UMC Grand Prairie, 122 N. Center Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050 on Saturday, September 14, at 1:00 pm CT. Click here to learn more.
The service will be on Facebook Live from First United Methodist Church of Grand Prairie. Click here to learn more.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to United Women in Faith’s School-to-Prison Pipeline work, which Wes was passionate about, with acknowledgements being sent to OGS@uwfaith.org.
Gift in Memory cards of support can be mailed to: Sally Vonner, United Women in Faith/CCUN, 777 United Nations Plaza 11th floor, New York, NY 10017. Sally asked that you not send her emails of condolences, rather express sentiments to this Kudoboard.
