Brooks-Howell Home Still Impacted by Hurricane Helene

The residents and staff of Brooks-Howell Home (BHH) are grateful for your prayers and support. It has been two weeks since Hurricane Helene’s devastating impact. Although the BHH facility is safe and sound, it still does not have running water. Internet and phone service are being re-established. Executive Director Sue Rawls said, “We are doing everything possible to keep things going … We have all survived, but there are a tremendous number of things that must be done during the cleanup.”

Patti Wilson, BHH’s property manager, is working with United Women in Faith national staff to identify resources and assistance through FEMA, the Department of Defense (route clearance, emergency power installation, and infrastructure and water assessments), and others. She also shared the following note someone pinned onto the BHH bulletin board.
